Who doesn’t love New York…? The pace, the cabs and all the shopping…..

New York living has a sophisticated way about it… It’s the city that never sleeps…It’s modern city living with luxe accessories and gorgeous furniture, functional and beautiful.

We found these fantastic images to conjure up the feel of New York and have used them as some fabulous interior design inspiration…

Using both Jo Lebrocque and La Maison pieces I have recreated the looks to show you how to achieve the look in your home.

Glamour! Our Goulaine Armchair in Vintage Black is a perfect stylish solution for a glamourous living room or boudoir. Teamed with our Florence Coffee table, the gold legs and stunning glass top will be the perfect place to display gorgeous coffee table books you picked up from The Guggenheim.

But for those of you wanting more of a casual sophisticated look, we love our Theodore Armchair in Ecru... The gorgeous stud detailing give this piece an eclectic charm yet the simple, non fussy design make it the perfect chair to fall into after a long day pounding the pavement at Bergdorf Goodman!

An important question which I always ask my clients when I do interior design consultation is not only what “look” they want, but, how they want the space to work and “feel”. As you can see from the two images above, both have a New York Look but the rooms would be used in very different ways. Another good way to consider this is to ask yourself, “what type of mood do I want to create?”.

The above New York Dining Room has a very cosmopolitan mood about it. You can imagine very sophisticated dinner parties with expensive canapes smoothered in caviar happening here. The Lenoir Dining Chair in Ebony with a rattan back was an easy choice to elude this type of style. The fine cabriole legs have the cosmopolitan essence this room needs, whilst the rattan helps to create texture and interest.

The above look is quite different again. After seeing this image of a New York Dining Room originally designed by Iain Halliday, I knew that our Montana Dining Chairs in Bronze velvet would be a perfect way to re-create the look. The mood of this dining room is fresh & modern, casual & elegant. I can imagine guests sipping Palegrino and dining on handmade pastries bought from Williamsburg bakeries in this space, or our very own Bourke St Bakery.

La Maison and JLB’s latest press images have been showcasing the glamous New York Style as everyone seems to be lusting for it. If you LOVE this style and would like to re-create it in your home feel free to contact me for an interior design consultation!
